UTSA Startup Grind Chapter Launches with Lorenzo Gomez as Guest Speaker

There is a new Startup Grind chapter in San Antonio, only this time, it is launching on campus at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA). Startup Grind UTSA will host its first event on February 20 at 7 p.m. at the university's College of Business. The chapter is planning a fireside chat with guest speaker Lorenzo Gomez, author, chief executive officer of newly formed Geekdom Media, and chairman of Geekdom, one of the largest co-working spaces in Texas. Trinity University’s Students+Startups to Expand Nationwide in 2019

One San Antonio university internship program placing students at local startups is expanding its local reach to college students nationwide. Students+Startups, run collaboratively between Trinity University, the nonprofit 80/20 Foundation, and San Antonio co-working community Geekdom announced the program's expansion Monday. The internship program is funded by a grant from the 80/20 Foundation, established by the co-founder and former Rackspace chairman Graham Weston. Former CEO and Geekdom chairman Lorenzo Gomez and tech evangelist, downtown developer, and philanthropist Graham Weston have teamed to launch a new media company—Geekdom Media. The two created Geekdom Media to disseminate original content relevant to the entrepreneurial ecosystem while showcasing world-class experts who reside in San Antonio.
