Pinch Boil House, a downtown restaurant, won the Geekdom Community Fund $25,000 award Friday. The popular fast-casual restaurant, co-founded by Andrew Ho and Sean Wen, opened to local diners in 2017.Typically held every quarter at well-attended Geekdom events, the founders gave their Community Fund pitches instead via Zoom video call. Aspiring entrepreneurs spoke excitedly to attendees at the Geekdom inaugural launch for its incubator cohort Tuesday evening. The three teams are participating in an inaugural 12-month-long incubator program designed to help launch civically-focused tech startups. Bexar County is teaming up with Tech Bloc, a San Antonio technology industry advocacy nonprofit on TechFuel, a non-dilutive, three-tiered $100,000 cash-prize pitch competition open to early-stage tech startups located across the state of Texas, Tech Bloc announced Thursday.The competition is designed to help emerging tech entrepreneurs launch innovative companies and is funded by Bexar County’s Innovation Fund.
