Geekdom 2020 Pre-Accelerator Startups To Pitch at Virtual Demo Day

For the startups participating in this year's pre-accelerator program, Geekdom did what practically everyone has done since the COVID-19 pandemic closed down public gatherings starting in March. The downtown San Antonio co-working community improvised.  That means that the 2020 Geekdom Pre-Accelerator Demo Day will be viewed online Sept. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. Register to view the pitches from the seven startups here. Geekdom Launches Incubator Program for Startups Focused on Social Impact

Aspiring entrepreneurs spoke excitedly to attendees at the Geekdom inaugural launch for its incubator cohort Tuesday evening. The three teams are participating in an inaugural 12-month-long incubator program designed to help launch civically-focused tech startups. The three teams are: Polis, which is developing a Bluetooth network-based navigation solution for the San Antonio River Walk, solovaGo, which is creating an app that uses crime data to help users evaluate the safety of neighborhoods, and, Pawtify, which is working with San Antonio's animal care services department to increase the number of pet adoptions.
