Level Effect Cyber Tool Acquired by Maryland-Based Company Huntress

Huntress, a Maryland-based provider of managed detection and response to cyber threats, announced Tuesday its acquisition of network-aware endpoint detection and response technology from cyber startup Level Effect for an undisclosed amount. Level Effect co-founders Greg Ake and Robert Noeth will join the Huntress team as part of the acquisition to support the initial integration and ongoing development of their Recon network-aware endpoint detection software. Like the founding team at Huntress, both Ake and Noeth have strong backgrounds in the U.S. intelligence community, having worked within the National Security Agency, Air Force, and other institutions. Lockheed Martin Launches New Cyber Facility at Port San Antonio

Lockheed Martin has opened its development center in Port San Antonio's new cybersecurity-centric building known as Project Tech. The largest U.S. defense contractor is leasing 15,000 square feet in the 90,000-square-foot cybersecurity-focused facility located on the Port’s campus across the street from the 24th Air Force’s cyber command. Port San Antonio has scored a strategic hire to catapult its cybersecurity business development. Will Garrett joins the Port Tuesday as its new vice president and director of cybersecurity development.  Garrett comes to the Port from the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce where he was the executive director of the Chamber's Cybersecurity San Antonio for almost four years. His portfolio at the Chamber focused on the growth and development of the local cybersecurity industry and advocacy for legislative issues impacting the sector.
