Jim Perschbach Named CEO and President of Port San Antonio

Port San Antonio's board of directors named Jim Perschbach as the organization’s president and CEO Wednesday. Perschbach has served in an interim role since March 28 after the previous Port CEO, Roland Mower, stepped down. Perschbach will lead a team of about 100 employees focused on the redevelopment the former Kelly Air Force Base in southwest San Antonio. "It's an exciting time for the Port," Perschbach said. The first company to move into the newly opened Tech Complex at Port San Antonio will be Lockheed Martin, which plans to launch its Cyber Solutions operations within more than 15,000 square feet of workspace beginning in early 2019. The Tech Complex is the first milestone in Port San Antonio’s Project Tech conceptual plan and serves as a cornerstone in the cybersecurity ecosystem at the Port, where over 1,000 cyber professionals work currently. Pingboard, a business to business (B2B) Software as a Service (SaaS) company, announced its latest $5 million round of seed funding led by Active Capital. The San Antonio-based venture firm is focused on leading seed rounds for founder-led, B2B SaaS companies. Pat Matthews, founder and CEO of Webmail.us which was acquired by Rackspace in 2007, decided to launch Active Capital in 2016. This is Active Capital’s 10th deal to date.
