Filestack announced Tuesday it acquired TINT, a user-generated content platform, for an undisclosed amount. TINT is a social media marketing platform that connects brands and customers into one social hub. Their social media content display tool helps businesses find and curate user-generated content to drive a high level of engagement with their customers. Filestack was founded in 2012 by MIT graduates and acquired in late 2015 by Scaleworks, a San Antonio-based venture equity fund that acquires and operates business-to-business (B2B) software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies. Cybersecurity training provider DC Industries is incorporating virtual reality (VR)-based scenarios from Ractive, a Geekdom-based startup, into their training programs. The two San Antonio startups have been collaborating on developing customized cybersecurity VR training over the past two months. DCI will launch its new VR cybersecurity training with the Threat Actor Targeting and Exploitation – Cyber Espionage course scheduled to start Sept. 24 and again Dec. 10. This second story features San Antonio's CivTechSA program, a residency for startups to work closely with municipal departments in search of innovative solutions.
