Braustin Homes, a San Antonio-based factory-built home business, has landed a $1.875 million seed funding round led by the venture capital fund Geekdom Fund, with participation from City Rise Ventures investors Graham Weston and Pat Matthews, and angel investor Pat Condon. Brothers Alberto and Jason Piña founded Braustin Homes in 2017 with a vision to build affordable manufactured homes in South and Central Texas. Trinity University’s Students+Startups to Expand Nationwide in 2019

One San Antonio university internship program placing students at local startups is expanding its local reach to college students nationwide. Students+Startups, run collaboratively between Trinity University, the nonprofit 80/20 Foundation, and San Antonio co-working community Geekdom announced the program's expansion Monday. The internship program is funded by a grant from the 80/20 Foundation, established by the co-founder and former Rackspace chairman Graham Weston. Former CEO and Geekdom chairman Lorenzo Gomez and tech evangelist, downtown developer, and philanthropist Graham Weston have teamed to launch a new media company—Geekdom Media. The two created Geekdom Media to disseminate original content relevant to the entrepreneurial ecosystem while showcasing world-class experts who reside in San Antonio. Geekdom Media’s first effort is the Brand Brothers podcast series, hosted by Gomez and branding expert Bill Schley.
