Big Data Analytics Startup Quickpath Scaling as Machine Learning-Powered AI Demand Grows

When you use Amazon Alexa, Siri, or Google, you can thank machine learning (ML) powering the artificial intelligence (AI) for the targeted ads, personalized content, song recommendations, and more that you get in personalized services. That exploding demand for big data-driven enterprise applications is what is fueling Quickpath's rapid growth.  The San Antonio big data analytics software startup uses its cloud-based software application program interface, or API, to help businesses lacking the specialized AI expertise to connect the different datasets that fuel machine learning AI. The proprietary Quickpath platform debuted in late 2018 for midmarket and enterprise companies implementing ML hardware and software packages.  "We wanted to make it 10 times easier for companies to acces...

Intrinsic Imaging Radiologist Develops Artificial Intelligence Tool to Streamline Workloads

Artificial intelligence (AI) was front and center at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show because of its capacity to influence every aspect of our lives. Now, AI’s reach is touching upon healthcare. Lance Reinsmith, M.D., is a radiologist with the South Texas Radiology Group and Intrinsic Imaging who is applying the power of AI to help those like him triage an overloaded system. Images obtained by MRI machines, CT scanners, and x-rays give clinicians the ability to look for signs of disease or injury in a patient. These digital images have so much data they take considerable time to review. That makes spotting the ones that require immediate attention from the more routine “normal” scans challenging for the radiologist with an ever-growing workload. “Most of us are operating at o...

Dearduck Makes it Easier to Buy for Others

The entrepreneur who pioneered “buying for others” marketing is helping retailers by using her knowledge of deep machine learning and psychology. Dearduck founder Katy Aucoin has created a software as a service (SaaS) recommendation platform that businesses can use to help their customers make informed purchases.  She calls this customized marketing approach BFO or buying for others which makes up 30 percent of all retail sales, according to the National Retail Federation. That 30 percent can distort the profile of a retail customer, Aucoin explained. Businesses pay money to collect data on a customer’s personal preferences, but it may reflect a customer’s needs to buy for someone else. “The way it works now we get ads generated on our past internet searches without any understan...

FunnelAI ‘s Artificial Intelligence Finds Real-time Customer Leads in Social Media

The best artificial intelligence (AI) systems extract insights from extremely large datasets. What if AI could tell a company which customers were ready to buy specific services or products, searching across all social data, including social media posts, regardless of platform or forum? Co-founder Sridhar Kamma created the first automated sales funnel company to use AI. FunnelAI provides companies targeted data on potential customers who post about their readiness to buy certain products or services, down to their ZIP code. FunnelAI’s algorithm can sort through millions of social data posts daily, generating sales leads for many different types of companies. Kamma, who is a mechanical engineer and data scientist, found himself looking online for prospects when working on his prior st...
