The RealCo Long-Term Accelerator program entered its second year with an ambitious idea. Soon after arriving at RealCo in April managing director Rich Grote began exploring how to create a way for the program’s distributed founders, mentors, and investors to engage deeply with each other in person and connect with the surrounding tech and startup ecosystem. Hitish Nathani died Friday unexpectedly, as confirmed in a Facebook statement Saturday. Services will be held at the M.E. Rodriguez Funeral Home, 511 Guadalupe Street July 4 at 10 a.m. Nathani’s family have asked attendees to please bring a photo of Hitish to share and help celebrate his life. Port San Antonio Reveals Plans for Innovation Center, Science and Tech Museum

Jim Perschbach, who earlier this week was named president and CEO of Port San Antonio, announced a bold strategic vision Friday at an event organized by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. The Port plans to transform the 1,900-acre campus southwest of downtown into a center for advanced technology, complete with an innovation center that will house the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT). Plans are in the conceptual stage to construct a new, 50,000-square-foot facility at Port San Antonio with a showroom for locally developed innovations, in addition to the science and tech museum and a maker space. Port San Antonio's board of directors named Jim Perschbach as the organization’s president and CEO Wednesday. Perschbach has served in an interim role since March 28 after the previous Port CEO, Roland Mower, stepped down. Perschbach will lead a team of about 100 employees focused on the redevelopment the former Kelly Air Force Base in southwest San Antonio. "It's an exciting time for the Port," Perschbach said. Many “vetrepreneurs” benefit from joining a program tailored for military members to learn what it takes to launch a startup business. Since launching its San Antonio chapter in December 2017, Bunker Labs San Antonio has been busy providing this service, helping military members from the seventh floor of the downtown Rand Building in the Geekdom co-working space.
