Trinity $25,000 Stumberg Competition Yields A Winner AND Runner-Up

Trinity University student entrepreneur team Quick Sip, producer of a specialty cold brew bottled coffee, won the $25,000 grand prize in funding Thursday in the final round of the annual Louis H. Stumberg Venture Competition.But that is not the entire story.The competition was fierce among the four finalist teams. The Stumberg competition is a two-part pitch event hosted each spring and the fall. Easy Expunctions Seals Deal with Goodwill, Lands $1.6M in Funding

Easy Expunctions, a software as a service (SaaS) company that expedites the clearing of criminal records for certain minor offenses, has signed a deal with Goodwill Industries of Central Texas. The startup has also raised nearly $1.6 million from 18 equity investors, according to a recent U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing. A San Antonio startup has raised $8.3 million in funding, according to a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) filing last week.
